| With the advent of liberalization in the early 90s, India opened the doors of her economy to foreign players. This influx of global players into the Indian market and their emphasis on using state-of-the-art technologies created a spurt in the demand for contemporary engineering courses in the suburbs of India's commercial capital Mumbai. | ||

Never one to ignore the demands of the
industry and academic fraternity, the Shri Vile Parle Kelavani
Mandal, with prior approval from the University of Mumbai, the
Government of Maharashtra, the Directorate of Technical Education
and the All India Council for Technical Education, decided to
establish a benchmark-setting engineering college. The Dwarkadas
J. Sanghvi College of Engineering, named after Shri Dwarkadas J. Sanghvi,
was born. Our parent body SVKM has provided additional building space of 5267.9 sq.m in the adjoining building of the campus. Thus the total built-up area now increases to 16,276.9 sq.m |
